How we teach

We follow the Cambridge international curriculum for Maths, English and Science.

“Cambridge Primary starts learners on an exciting educational journey, setting out what they should be able to do at each stage of their primary education. It develops young learners who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. It is for learners typically aged 5 to 11.”

We also offer Modern Foreign Languages (Arabic or French) using a communicative approach for a vibrant learning of the language. Creative writing, Accelerated reading and Spelling are also part of our programme.

All our classes are taught online in total interaction. As a parent, you will not need to intervene, but we will ask you to be around in case of technical issues.

We use a virtual learning environment system specially made for online learning. There is a whiteboard, a chat, cameras (children and teacher will see each other) etc… You will need to have a fast internet connection and a good computer or tablet. It is better to use a computer for more comfort.

Research has shown that children need “Brain Breaks” in order to relax after efforts. What we do is, 45 minutes of class time, then a 15 minutes break, and so on.

There will be 3 to 4 sessions per day.

Our aim is to offer enjoyable and relaxed classes with NO STRESS and no pressure, as this is what home education is all about. We believe, and this is through strong experience in teaching and observation in class, that assessment should be done in class through the teacher’s observation. They are the ones who know their learners the best, and give effective feedback. Too many children get stressed when they have to sit “proper exams” and end up failing most of the time when they, in reality, have the capacities to succeed!

We also know that lots of families struggle when they home educate as it is a lot of work, looking for resources, creating a scheme of work, preparing lessons, teaching etc. and this is time consuming and leaves less time for house chores, and also and especially worshipping, learning our religion to be better muslims inshaa’Allah. This is what we faced and this is what we also want to help with.
